There has been a common trend among families that consist of more than one child and that is protective siblings. Let me explain exactly what I mean by this and how this trend has emerged. Today, older siblings between the ages of 22-30 grew up during the first generation that had the most freedom of expression, to travel, education, and rights. Unlike our parents, generation Y have experienced almost everything as their younger siblings and have learned a lot of lessons. These lessons can be applied to younger siblings because the experiences are very much alike. In other words, it’s very hard to take advice from our parents because they grew up in such a different way, and especially without the impact of technology. That being said, older siblings are aware of the things in life that could go very wrong. For example, as an older sister and recent graduate from University, I know exactly what it takes to succeed in school and how to take precautions to avoid failure. My parents are very outdated in the education system and their tactics do not apply, therefore, I feel responsible to guide my sister and younger siblings to do well in school. This concept goes beyond school, this also extends to social life, career life and personal life. Older siblings grew up with the same “crowds” and have learned a lot from various friendships. Lessons like this are vital to younger siblings because again, during our parents time, social life meant having coffee at the neighbours house and coming home at 8 pm. Lastly, as an older sibling, romantic relations have not changed much since our parents time: men still want the good girl and women still want the family man.
It’s very difficult to watch my parents give my siblings advice and knowing the world does not work that way anymore.
Haifa Wehbe’s New Album MJK
I recently purchased Haifa Wehbe’s new album “MJK” and I must say, this album magnifies her beauty, talents, and character beyond imaginable. The album has a creative mix of various Middle Eastern dialect but still complimenting Haifa’s own style of music. For the music lovers around the world, like myself, this album is a perfect blend of melody, techno style and Arabian traditional music with the soothing and exotic voice of Haifa Wehbe all in one album. Haifa is known for her sultry, flirtatious, and sexy music, which is illustrated well throughout the whole album but with a new and modern approach. On a side note, the success of this album has already been viral on the internet reaching the top of the charts on iTunes for worldwide albums. If the music is this good, I can only imagine how amazing the music videos will be.
As I listen to to the album, I am finding it very difficult to choose a favourite, so for now, I’ll just suggest the whole album. I know you will enjoy it as much as a I do.
